Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time in your settings or by contacting us.

3. What other users can see

Your name, username, profile photo and cover photo are public. Other profile details and your posts are visible according to the privacy settings you choose. Content you share publicly can be seen by anyone, including people who are not logged in, and may be shared further by others.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us run Confam, such as hosting, storage, email delivery, payment processing and security providers. They may only use your data to provide services to us.
  • Authorities and others when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Confam, our users or the public, including reporting child sexual abuse material.
  • A new owner if Confam is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will tell you.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK and European Economic Area. Where this happens we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete content it is removed from the Service, and when you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we need to keep some information longer to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce our Terms. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • delete your data;
  • restrict or object to our processing, including direct marketing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it.

You can update most information and delete your account in your settings. To use any other right, contact us through our Contact Us page. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or to your local data protection authority, but we would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences (such as language and night mode) and keep the Service secure. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings, but blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Service from working.

9. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords and restricted access to our systems. No service can be completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.

10. Children

Confam is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will tell you through the Service or by email. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
